The 26th Macau Food Festival runs from 20 November to 6 December 2026. If Saturday 28 November is your first time at it, make the evening your first Macau sauna too: Number Nine Spa, where choosing starts with a runway. The stage, the hour and the lounge, explained for a first visit.

On a first trip to Macau, almost everything is new, and almost everything works the same way: you look first, and then you choose. A first Macau sauna can feel like the exception, because you have no idea yet how the choosing is done. At some Macau saunas, it is done the same way: you watch first and choose after.

A first food festival, and a first Macau sauna

The 26th Macau Food Festival runs for 17 days, from Friday 20 November to Sunday 6 December 2026, on Sai Van Lake Square in front of Macau Tower. It has around 150 food stalls, every one of them run by a local business, with Chinese, Portuguese and Macanese food alongside cooking from other countries, and a performance stage. Saturday 28 November falls on its second weekend.

Keep that Saturday evening for the other first. A Macau sauna is a spa club rather than a single steam room: you change, there is a lounge with recliners and food, and the centre of the night is a one-to-one massage hour with a therapist you choose yourself. For a first visit, the choosing is the part that is hardest to picture. At Number Nine Spa, it begins with a runway.

The runway at Number Nine

Number Nine Spa is in the Royal Dragon Hotel in central Macau, on the peninsula. What it is known for is its fashion-show stage, lit by a big LED screen behind it, and it is one of the Macau saunas best known for its show. You tell the manager which set on the menu you would like, and the therapists on duty, a multinational line-up, then walk the runway while you watch from the hall. When you have seen the one you would like, you tell the manager, and that is the whole of it.

The hour, in a room with a colour of its own

Every room at Number Nine has a colour of its own: red, pink-purple or blue-purple. The hour is one to one, in one of those rooms, and from start to finish it runs at her pace.

Out of the whole line-up, she is the one you chose. Behind the door it is just her, the room’s colour and sixty minutes at her pace, with anything you would like only a word away. That hour is what first-time guests at Number Nine tell us about afterwards.

After the hour

After the hour there is the lounge, where you can rest on a recliner. Add-ons such as a head massage, a foot massage or ear cleaning are done there by a different masseuse, and you pick them once you are sitting down. Food and drinks are included in the price, from steak and fried rice to noodle soup, milk tea and coffee. Number Nine is open 24 hours and overnight stays are possible, so if the evening runs late, the recliner can carry you through to the morning. Private rest rooms are available for a fee.

What first-timers ask us

How late can I arrive? Number Nine Spa is open 24 hours. The therapists are on duty from 3 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning, so a Saturday evening, even a late one, sits well inside their hours.

Do I need to know anything before I go? No. The manager takes you through the menu, and the choosing happens in front of the runway.

What does it cost? As of October 2026, Number Nine’s menu runs from MOP 1,199 to MOP 6,999, and a 10% service charge is added to the bill. Prices follow the actual menu and may vary with the service, the length and the time of day. We can go through each set with you, and you will have the current menu confirmed when you book.

Booking a first Macau sauna night at Number Nine

Send us the date, the number of people, your hotel and the set you have in mind, and we will put the night together for you. Booked through us, the night starts with a private car at the door of wherever you are staying in Macau, and the trip back is arranged in advance. If you are coming over from Hong Kong that day, our car will be waiting for you at the ferry terminal or the border crossing. On bookings made through us, two add-ons from the list are free, and so is the consultation before you book. You can reach us on the contact section, and the venue is covered in full on our Number Nine Spa review page.

Look first, then choose: on Saturday night at Number Nine, that is how a first Macau sauna begins.
